Nanay, I'm hungry! My heart tickles when I heard my son pleading.
I came closer to him and kneed before him. I looked straight to his eyes and I have seen the innocence of a youth on his visage. I hugged him tightly, then my eyes gave up. I am crying, my tears teemed and poured down. I can't hold it back any longer.

I talked to him then, Rico my son, don't worry, Nanay will look for a food okay. I hopelessly said to my son.

I stood up and turned back immediately. I don't want him to see me crying.
I told him that I will go back soon.
I left the house and I went to my neighbor.

Good evening Iring! I greeted her timidly.

Yes, Nena how may I help you? She asked softly.

Ahh- Iring - I - I just want to ask,  if you still have some foods? I stammered.

Then, I saw Iring's left eye brow raised after asking that.

She spoke then. I am really sorry Nena, but we can't give you some, our supper for tonight might not be enough for us.

Please, even just a small portion, just only for my child. I fervently uttered.

No, Nena I told you that it would not be sufficient for us. You may go!
She shouted at me.

She loudly slammed the door then I left the place.

I failed to have even just a small portion. I was
really perplexed during that time. I was wandering - I don't know what to do! I am so hopeless.

I was out of my consciousness and I didn't notice that I was already on a dim path. I passed by on a restaurant and there I saw how people indulging themselves with foods.
I have also seen how others wasting it.

Two hours had elapsed but until now, I still have nothing in my hands.

I decided to walk home. Along the route, I feel the tiredness engulfed my body. My arms were loosely hanged and I feel like I was trapped in wilderness.
I can't help it! I can't imagine that my son would abstain from supper again.

My tears had teemed and it seemed interminable. I tried to cease it from spurting, but I can't!

I pitied my son's drastic situation and I have been blaming myself for that.
He is an innocent! A victim of the world’s cruelties. What should I do?! What should I do?! I desparetly asked myself.

I was walking homeward and my body gets more heavy as I pace.

It's just a street before I get home.
When I heard a screeching sound coming from my back. Then the next thing happened, was I saw two cars bumped each other.

The passengers of the said cars were all wounded critically. I saw the woman sitting in the front seat pleading for help. She's pregnant and she needs an urgent aid. Her husband was unconscious and had sustained a serious damage on the head.

The other car, was own by an old man. His body got smashed, and I guess, he is already death.

I manage to help but I can't afford to move. I feel like my feet were buried in the ground during that time. The accident had evoked the attention of the people. Then the place was thronged.

A moment had passed, and the ambulance arrived. I have witnessed how the medics succoured the injured ones.

After seeing that, I continue on walking.

Then, I got astounded again. I saw a body of a death cat. Its body was destroyed and its blood stained the path.

When I got home, it was quarter to 11 of the evening. The night was deep and its silence is forsooth deafening.

Anak, anak wake- up. I tried to wake him up but he's deeply sleeping.
I went outside and there I stayed for a while.
When suddenly, I heard the clanging of the utensils from the kitchen.

Rico has woke up. Then, he shouted.

Thank you Nanay you have made your promise to me!

I was shocked, I saw him eating eagerly.

Then, I saw Iring rushy entered our house. She was fluttering and looked so lost.

She called my son and revealed something.

Rico, Rico your mother has died on a car accident!

I have died? I indubitably asked myself.

End...
